Emma Dolan

"Clarice" caught my eye the other day. Inspired by the work of British ceramic designer Clarice Cliff (1899-1972), this handstitched Harris Tweed and felt piece is just one of a large range of handmade personalised cups and saucers created by Emma Dolan, a Yorkshire-based textile designer/maker who loves surface patterns and 20th Century collectables.

Her Nursery Ware pieces would make beautiful christening or birthday presents, and her Keepsakes range "offers a unique way of preserving cherished memories by taking a much loved fabric such as child’s favourite summer dress now outgrown and turning it into a delightful teacup to treasure".

Cowboys and Indians

Boys at Play

Each cup and saucer comes in a presentation box and can be personalised for you. Emma also welcomes commissions if you have a specific favourite design.
Watch out for her new shop on Not on the High Street, and if you live in the UK, Emma's work will also be on show at The Biscuit Factory, Cuppola Gallery, The Hub, The Platform Gallery, Pelham House Gallery, The Mission Gallery, Debbie Bryan Shop and Studio, Unit12 and The Leeds Craft and Design Centre as from September.
